Spiritual Leadership

The Lord Jesus is the Chief Shepherd of His people.  In His absence he has appointed leaders in the local churches.  ”Elders”,  “Overseers”, “Pastors”, or “Shepherds” refer to those men who spiritually feed, lead, and protect the Church, each having a distinctly different role. Those who would be elders must recognize it is a calling from God. They are worthy of respect and obedience.  The congregation is accountable to them, and the elders are accountable to God. Team leadership is presented in Scripture and offers diversity of giftedness and personality, but also an equality of honour, responsibility and accountability.  It is expected that with a plurality of leaders a healthy church will grow spiritually and numerically.
