The Lord's Supper

The Purpose of this ceremony is to remember what Christ has sacrificed for us, to rejoice in the Lord for who He is and all he has done, and to remind ourselves that one day we will celebrate this feast with Him in heaven.  Preparation begins with self-examination of our relationship with the Lord and our relationship with others, in order to confess any known sin and attempt to settle any problems before partaking of the feast.  The Procedure of the early church was a simple ceremony of the sharing of bread, and the drinking of “the fruit of the vine”  from a cup. It is a time of remembrance that is brought about through singing, and playing musical instruments in an orderly fashion. Worship is the supreme responsibility and privilege of the Christian.
